This extensive property was an interesting project that involved not only the installation of an audio and visual system, but the incorporation of ‘future-proof’ wiring that would allow the client to add on other equipment at a later date. The audio and visual installation was to be for the client’s living room and consisted of two screen projectors and a TV screen, as well as surround sound and hand control of all the audio and visual equipment. They also wanted Lutron lighting and blinds that could also be remote controlled, effectively creating a ‘smart living room’.

The future-proofing consisted of retro-fitting AV faceplates around the living area so that they could plug in other equipment later on. Taking into consideration the character of the property, we installed an Epson Projector 5800 and a Samsung LED TV for the screens. An electric recessed ceiling projector screen meant that the layout of the room was maintained. B&W wall mounted FPM4 surround sound speakers were used as a space saving option and combined with a B&W ASW608 subwoofer. These were all connected to a NAD AV T747 amplifier to give excellent clarity and depth.

The use of HDMI faceplaces meant that we used an Intelix matrix switch 4x4, Sky HD and Blu-Ray player to connect to each screen, allowing the clients to watch different programmes on different screens. The entire system was controlled by a Nevo Q50 remote control system.
